Thank you for visting our honeymoon registry website. We are very excited about our honeymoon trip to Italy and hope you will enjoy reading about our plans.

The decision to go to Italy was very simple. We asked each other what we thought would be the ultimate place to go for our honeymoon. When we both said Italy, there was no further discssion. The planning started right away.

Gondolas in Venice

Sure it sound touristy, but a romantic gondola ride though the canals of Venice is typical Italy. We will also stop at St. Mark's Square and be sure to dodge the pigeons.

The Last Supper

The Church of Santa Maria delle Grazie is the home of daVinci's The Last Supper. Visiting this classic masterpiece is a must-do for us. Reservations are required in advance for this rare glimpse of the famous painting and tickets are hard to get. Hopefully we will be able to get a pair of them.

Soccer match in Milan

Soccer match in Milan

Soccer is the national sport of Italy. So to experience a part of Italy's culture, we want to go to a soccer game. On May 22 Inter Milan plays Catania at San Siro stadium in a Seria A League game, Italy's top pro league,and we plan to be there. (Alan thanks Kylie for letting him experience this wish of his.)

A Day Trip to Florence

A Day Trip to Florence

From our base in the Tuscany area, we will take a day trip to Florence. The Galleria dell'Accademia is the location of Michelangelo's famous David and the Uffizi Gallery contains the greatest collection of Italian paintings. Both places require reservations in advance. If we have time left over, we will climb the Duomo's Dome

A Walking Tour of Ancient Rome

A Walking Tour of Ancient Rome

We'll spend a day doing a walking tour of historic Rome. We'll make stops at the Colosseum, Roman Forum ruins, and the Pantheon plus several other places in between. We will need a ticket to see most of these places.

A Tour of Vatican City

Another must-do for us is spending a day in Vatican City. We plan to visit both St. Peter's Basilica and the Vatican Museums, which include the Sistine Chapel. We will need to get tickets in advance for the Museums.

A concert in Naples

One thing Kylie wanted to do on our trip was see a performance. We will do this by seeing a concert in Naples on May 27 at the Teatro San Carlo, Italy's oldest opera house.

A Day along the Amalfi Coast

Everyone has told us we need to spend a day touring the Amalfi Coast. We will have the option of a bus tour, a boat tour, or doing our own thing by renting a car. This will be a memorable way to close our time in Italy.

A Relaxing Visit to Lake Como

The first place we plan to visit in Italy is the small towns surrounding Lake Como. This will be a good place for us to relax after a long flight. We plan to stay in the lakeside town of Varenna. A boat tour of the Lake and the lake town of Bellagio is a must.

Verona

Verona

After a relaxing few days along the Lake, we will stop in Verona for a day on our way from the Lake Como area towards Venice. It is a historic city and the home of Romeo and Juliet. Kylie lived in Verona for a few years. She will give Alan a tour of the City, and probably make him play Romeo along the way.

After a a quick day in Verona, our trip will move to Venice and the surrounding area for a few days. Everyone knows what to do when in Venice - jump into a gondola and be rowed around town.

After Venice we will move to Milan. We plan to stay close to the central, old town area of Milan where we will be close to many of the main attractions.

We plan to spend two days in the Tuscany area enjoying some of the small hill towns in the region. Taking things easy and slowing down for a few days will be nice. We will be staying in the town of Sienna and take a day trip to Florence.
